At the S Pèrgmandlhaus Museum, two floors symbolically showcase a crucial activity for the Valle del Fersina, influencing it economically, anthropologically, and environmentally.
Explore the S Pèrgmandlhaus Museum in Palù del Fersina and immerse yourself in the mining history of the Fersina Valley. Through a gallery adorned with the veins of copper, you will be taken on an innovative journey that celebrates the world of mines and the lives of miners.
The first floor of the museum reveals the secrets of the minerals sought by miners, highlighting the value of natural resources such as wood and water, fundamental for mining activities. This section of the museum sheds light on the tensions between local residents and miners, stemming from the use of natural resources offered by the territory.
The second floor of the museum focuses on the communities that have shaped the Fersina Valley over the centuries. Contrary to common belief, the valley’s residents do not solely descend from miners but from Germanic farming populations arriving from Bavaria and Tyrol around 1200. This section of the museum provides an in-depth look into the origins and traditions of the local communities.
