The dark and strenuous life of the canopi, miners arriving from Bohemia and Tyrol, told within the galleries of the Erdemolo Mine
Explore the Gruab va Hardimbl mine in Palù del Fersina, located at 1700 meters above sea level and accessible along the trail leading to Lake Erdemolo. This ancient mine, operational between 1400 and 1650, now opens its doors to the public eager to immerse themselves in the history of the Fersina Valley.
Inside, visitors will find showcases displaying historical artifacts, including miners’ tools, their clothing, and extracted minerals. During the guided tour, you will discover details about the miners’ way of life and their close connection with the surrounding territory.

Quando è aperto
The Gruab va Hardimbl Mine in the 2023 season is open from June 2nd to October 29th. In the months of June and September, it is open on Saturdays and Sundays. In July and August, it is open from Tuesday to Sunday. In October, it is open on Sundays. However, it is also available for group reservations on other days.
How to get there
From Trento, take the ring road and then the SS47 Valsugana towards Padua. Exit at Pergine Valsugana and follow the signs for Val dei Mòcheni until you reach Palù del Fersina, locality Vròttn, where there is ample paid parking (6 € for the whole day). To reach the mine, there is a convenient forest road accessible only on foot with a pleasant walk of about 45 minutes (direction Lake Erdemolo).
A convenient free parking area is instead located further downstream next to the sports field (an additional 40 minutes walk).
To know
You enter the mine only with guided tours at scheduled times. The maximum number of people per entry is set at twelve. Children of all ages can enter; those under ten years old must be accompanied by an adult. In the mine, the temperature is 8°C, so appropriate clothing is recommended. Helmets and raincoats are provided at the start.
It is communicated that for safety reasons, it is not permitted to enter the Mine with dogs or other animals.
If the visitor possesses the Trentino Guest Card, issued by the accommodation where they are staying, please take a screenshot of the card.
Please note, there is no ATM/credit card service available in the mine.
Opening hours
The guided tour times are: 10:00 AM, 10:45 AM, 11:30 AM, 1:30 PM, 2:15 PM, 3:00 PM, 3:45 PM, 4:30 PM, and 5:15 PM.
Other days and times are available for groups upon reservation.
Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the scheduled start time of the guided tour.
Rates
The ticket for the mine visit includes admission to the S Pèrgmandlhaus Museum. With the same ticket, you can visit both museums.
- Full price ticket: 8 euros (mine + museum)
- Reduced price: 5 euros (only museum) for children between 4 and 12 years old, seniors over 65, residents of the municipalities of Fierozzo, Frassilongo, and Sant’Orsola Terme
- Family ticket: 20 euros (two adults and up to 3 children up to 12 years old)
- Group rate: 5 euros per person for groups of 24 or more people
- Special group rate: 3 euros per person for groups of children or teenagers up to 18 years old
- Free admission for residents and AIRE registered individuals of the Municipality of Palù del Fersina, children from 0 to 3 years old
- 1 free ticket for group escorts for every 12 people.
